Back in April, engineering students from Greater New Bedford Vocational Technical High School competed against 10 other schools in the Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) competition at Mass Maritime Academy.

It involved designing and building a robot that can carry out complex underwater tasks.  The GNB Voc-Tech team finished in first place and will now be the only school representing Massachusetts at the Marine Advanced Technology Education international competition next month in Seattle.

They will be up against 35 teams from across the USA and throughout the world.   Good luck to the six member team, that includes seniors Alex Correia and Treg Dembitzski of Dartmouth, Gustin Froias, Nathan Morgado, Bryan Pasquarello and Jordan Vasconcellos of New Bedford.
