Did you ever experience a cold sweat after sending someone an email accidentally?  Those days are over for Gmail users.

Google is making it easier to avoid the problems that can be caused by a misdirected or inappropriate e-mail.

An option to cancel an e-mail that has been delivered within 30 seconds of hitting the send button has been added in Google’s Gmail as part of a change in settings made this week.

According to The Boston Globe, the ‘‘undo send’’ feature had already been available for the past six years in Google’s experimental labs.

Now, those with a Gmail account will be able to activate the feature in Gmail’s settings. There will be a 30 second delay after pressing the send button in order to give users a chance to retrieve a mistakenly sent e-mail.

The feature was inserted into the “Inbox” application on mobile devices last month.

Gmail was launched 11 years ago and there are more than 900 million Gmail account holders worldwide.
