I have no shame in my game. I'm an animal when it comes to deviled eggs.

Michael and Maddie kicked off our fall 2023 Restaurant Week at Black Salt Bistro & Bar in Swansea.

Restaurant Week means trying new dishes from five different restaurants al week long. From starters to entrees to desserts, it's a marathon and a challenge to keep the weight off by week's end but it's worth the calories.

That said, I have zero willpower when it comes to deviled eggs. There's something about those delectable bite-sized hors d'oeuvres that have a chokehold on me. You see, it's all about the smaller details of a deviled egg. Some are lightly garnished with bacon crumbles while others are dusted with paprika. Add a drop of sriracha on top and your taste buds are on an all-inclusive first-class trip to Flavortown.

I could go on and on about my love for deviled eggs, but what I'm really ashamed about is the quantity I could easily consume if given the opportunity. For example, I shamelessly devoured six halves today (three eggs total) and wasn't fazed one bit. On an empty stomach and feverish appetite, I truly believe I could house 12 deviled egg halves (or six eggs total).

It's gluttonous, to say the least, but I'll never deny my undying love for deviled eggs. They're the perfect creamy little snack on a hot summer day that complements just about any barbecue dish perfectly.
