Fun 107 Playlist – May 2015 Top Songs [VIDEO]

This Spring is all about the songs from the 50 Shades of Grey movie soundtrack and this month, The Weeknd's Earned It took the top spot on Fun 107.

The Weeknd is the stage name of Canadian singer Abel Tesfaye, but his stage presence is what has gotten him rave reviews for awhile now.

Industry staples like Rolling Stone and MTV have been praising The Weeknd and his sound since he first started emerging on the scene a few years back with his mixtapes. In fact it was MTV's John Norris who dubbed The Weeknd the "songbird of his generation" and called him "the best musical talent since Michael Jackson."

That is some seriously high praise for an essentially new artist, but The Weeknd seems to be living up to the hype.

He already has been on tour with Justin Timberlake and Drake, was featured on Ariana Grande's hit "Love Me Harder" and is now climbing towards a possible number one hit with his solo track "Earned It."

Sources say The Weeknd is currently working on a new studio album that is said to feature even more amazing music from this still up and coming artist. So clearly The Weeknd has in fact "earned" all of the success he is getting.
