The apartments at 1270 Pleasant Street are set to close and all of its residents will be evicted.

The Fall River Herald reports that the city building inspector has declared the "known nuisance property" unsafe for human habitation.

A notice posted on the building yesterday told residents they must move their belongings out of their apartments by 3 p.m. today.

Fall River's new mayor, Jasiel Correia was notified about the conditions of the property, which is owned by Krishna Priya of Burlington. According to the Herald, he agreed the residents should be removed and added,

This is what we’ve been talking about for years. We’ve been talking about absentee landlords, talking about crime and prostitution, drugs in homes you have 30 plus people living in. That’s not safe for those individuals, that’s not safe for children, that’s not safe for the community. We’re going to address this head-on,”
