A Fall River Barbershop Is Giving Back to Local Kids Going Back to School With Free Backpacks and Haircuts
Once again, a barber shop and salon out of Fall River is giving back to local kids.
It's no surprise that Shear Genius Barber Shop and Ms. Shear Genius Salon are taking care of their community, as they have done so for the past eight years. Since day one of opening up the Plymouth Avenue location, Luis Gonsalves (Owner of Shear Genius Barbershops) along with his wife Stacey Gonsalves (owner and founder of Juice'd Cafe and former owner of Ms. Shear Genius Salon) have put their community first.
Especially when it comes to the kids.
This year marks the 8th annual event for the 'Back 2 School Backpack Giveaway' and this time, they've brought the cafe as well as the City of Refuge Church onboard to help local boys and girls as they prepare to head back to school.
On Sunday, August 27th, from 9:00 AM to Noon, take your kids down to Shear Genius Barber Shop and Ms. Shear Genius Salon located at 1475 Plymouth Avenue in Fall River for a free haircut and complimentary backpack for Grades K - 12. It's first come first serve, while supplies last, but haircuts will be given out until Noon.
Gazelle from Fun 107's Michael and Maddie Show will be providing the music and good times from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.
This event is public and welcomes all who could use a fresh cleanup as well as a backpack before school is back in session. Again, supplies are limited, so get there early to secure a spot.
