Eating Wings For A Great Cause

Each Spring, I happily help out the Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police with their Annual Wing Fling event. 

Their 5th Annual one was last night at the Attleboro Elks Lodge in Attleboro, MA.  The event sold out last year, and this year was no different, a completely sold out event!  Each year, the Wing Fling gets bigger and bigger and it's all for a great cause.  The Wing Fling was created as a way to raise funds to help Police Officers who were either hurt in the line of duty, or going through serious medical issues.

I have helped out 3 years in a row now as a celebrity judge.  It's a whole lot of fun and in the past few years, I've recruited some other radio and tv personalities to join me, like ABC 6's John Deluca and 94 HJY's Steve Scarpetti.

The reason the Wing Fling means so much to me, is that my husband's Father was a Police Officer for the Town of Rehoboth for 22 years before he passed away in 2002.  I always heard great things about him, but I never got the chance to meet him, and wished that I had.  Because of him, my husband is friends with a lot of cops and in the time we have known one another, I've gotten to make friends with many of them as well.

So, in case you're wondering how I fared with hot wings....very well I might add!  I can eat wings with the very best of them!  Every year I stay right in til the end, eating the hottest of all hot wings.  I even stay in longer than a lot of the guys!

The 5th Annual Wing Fling was a great success and even featured in Attleboro's local newspaper, The Sun Chronicle.
