Officials at Bridgewater State University have identified the student found unresponsive in a dormitory Thursday.

The freshman from Sharon, MA was identified as Kyle Bronstein, according to a statement today by BSU president Frederick Clark, Jr.

Bronstein was found unresponsive in a residence hall by BSU Police and later died at Brockton Hospital.

Clark praised the campus community for their response to the devastating news and support of their peers.

"I want to express how proud I am of the way our students responded to this tragedy," Clark said. "I was deeply moved by how you banded together to support and care for each other. The same is true of our faculty and staff, who worked hard to comfort and support our students and one another. Our sympathies also go out today to the Bronstein family in their time of grief. Bridgewater State University is more than a community, we are a family, and those bonds were on full display yesterday."

Counseling is available for students, faculty and staff on campus at the Counseling Center in Weygand Hall.

No cause of death has been released.
