Take One, Leave One: Inside New Bedford’s New Trinket Trove
The next time you're in downtown New Bedford, keep an eye out for a new addition: the Trinket Trove.
What Is the Trinket Trove?
"This project is at one standalone location open year-round," Creator Mya Aguiar said.
The concept is similar to Little Free Library. People can take a small item and leave another for future passersby.
How the “Take One, Leave One” System Works
"The Trinket Trove is a 'take one, leave one' small item exchange, built on trust, designed to bring people together while encouraging connection, creativity, and community engagement," Aguiar said.

"There is a short list of rules for items that are and aren’t accepted into the trinket trade box listed on its socials, simply to ensure that this is a safe and fair project that everyone can enjoy," she added.
What You Can Find Inside
You never know what you'll find. There could be stickers, playing and trading cards, keychains, small figurines, collectible items and more.
"Handmade items and trinkets are always encouraged to enhance the already existing creative space that New Bedford is known to have," Aguiar said.

Encouraging Creativity in New Bedford
So get creative, gather those trinkets and enjoy the Trinket Trove located at New Bedford Fiber Arts on Purchase Street.
"I would like to continue seeing the community step up and contribute their own trinkets to the exchange box as much as they take away from it to ensure a fair trade for everyone. Swap, don’t shop," Aguiar said.
