
Boston Bruins Honor Pawtucket Shooting Heroes at TD Garden
On Thursday, March 12, 2026, the crowd at TD Garden was on its feet and it had nothing to do with what was happening on the ice.

With just under four minutes left in the second period, a TV timeout signaled a stoppage of play, when the Boston Bruins took a moment to acknowledge three local heroes.
Heroes of Pawtucket Recognized
Michael Black, Ryan Cordeiro and Robert Rattenni were celebrated and honored for their heroic efforts.

The Life-Saving Incident
On February 16, 2026, the unthinkable happened at Dennis M. Lynch Arena in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, when an active shooter situation unfolded. Black, Cordeiro and Rattenni responded without hesitation to protect those around them and disarm the shooter.
These local heroes were all smiles as they waved to the crowd, who cheered in appreciation.

As the In-Arena Host, I had the privilege of reading a small excerpt, describing the incident and announcing them to the crowd.
"Their bravery and valor stands as a powerful testament to the strength of their local community and the profound impact ordinary individuals can have when they choose to act with extraordinary courage," the script read.
