Cucumbers are being recalled nationwide by the CDC after a string of salmonella cases.

More than 350 cases of salmonella food poisoning have been reported across the country that the FDA and CDC say are linked to imported cucumbers.

The recall states that these questionable cucumbers are from Mexico and were distributed by Andrew & Williamson Fresh Produce. Though the cucumbers were distributed to all 50 states, cases of salmonella food poisoning have only been reported in 30 states so far.

Massachusetts is currently unaffected by the food poisoning, though there are cases as close as New York.

Already two people have died as a result of the contaminated produce and the CDC says anyone with infected cucumbers should not eat them. The type of cucumber is often referred to as a “slicer” or “American” cucumber and is dark green in color. Typical length is 7 to 10 inches. It is typically sold without any packaging.

They add that if you aren't sure whether or not your cucumbers are safe to eat, you can contact the place of purchase or supplier to make sure.

If you are concerned you may have been infected, salmonella food poisoning symptoms include diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps. The CDC says most of the people infected by these cucumbers report symptoms about a week after consumption.
