Let’s be real, if you are a cat lover (like me), then your social media feed is most likely comprised of cute kittens acting strangely, being silly, or simply just being cats, and each video is more entertaining than the next.

What if I told you there is a worldwide event that brings cat lovers together? What if I told you there is actually an event that showcases the best of the best cat videos while simultaneously raising money and awareness for cats around the world?

It’s called CatVideoFest, and it’s coming to New Bedford’s Zeiterion Theatre on September 18th.

What is CatVideoFest?

CatVideoFest brings the joy of cat videos to the big screen in an effort to raise money for cats in need. According to the official website, “CatVideoFest is a joyous communal experience, only available in theatres, and raises money for cats in need through partnerships with local cat charities, animal welfare organizations, and shelters to best serve cats in the area.

A percentage of the proceeds from each event goes directly to local animal shelters and/or animal welfare organizations.

What To Expect

Get ready for 70 minutes of the latest and greatest cat videos collected by the CatVideoFest team. From unique submissions to viral videos, this family-friendly experience unites cat supporters and their love for adorable videos.

CatVideoFest At The Z

CatVideoFest has been seen in over 200 theatres in the US and Canada and 100 theatres in Europe. On Sunday, September 18th, we’ll get a chance to experience it at The Zeiterion Theatre. The proceeds of the show will support Moby Kit Rescue, an animal rescue in Fall River that serves the SouthCoast.

You can even participate in the fun by submitting a short video of your feline for a chance to win prizes and to be featured in the pre-show program by posting on social with the hashtags #catsofnewbedford and #zeiterionpets.

As a true cat supporter, I have cleared my calendar for the 18th. The only way this event could get better is if I could bring my cats with me, but I’ll just submit some videos instead.

What to Expect at Bajah's Cat Café in Tiverton

A cat café is coming soon to Tiverton, and Amanda Souza-Viera is exciting to bring cat lovers and coffee lovers under one roof.
