Britax has recalled 71,000 infant car seats that covers the B-safe 35, the B-safe 35 elite and the B-safe 35 travel system made from October 2014 to July 2015.

The recall is due to faulty handles that apparently can crack and break, causing the car seat to fall unexpectedly and in turn injure the child in it.

The car seats can still be used in a stroller or when secured in a vehicle, but they should not be carried by the handle.

The company is providing owners of these car seats with "remedy kits" that include a carry handle bracket and instructions on how to install it.
