Explosives were used in Boston today to take down a section of bridge that had been closed due to safety concerns. See it come down here.

Demolition crews imploded three sections of the Long Island Bridge that had connected Long Island and Moon Island in Boston Harbor. The bridge had been closed since October when it was deemed unsafe.

The rest of the demo is expected to take place this spring and a new bridge will eventually be built. The city is currently asking for proposals on said bridge, which could cost about $80 million.
