Westport Turkey Has No Fear as Thanksgiving Approaches [VIDEO]
There’s brave. There’s bold. And then there’s this turkey.
A backyard in Westport had an unexpected guest this week when a male turkey – yes, a full Tom – strutted his way right up to the sliding back door and started aggressively pecking the glass like he had a bone to pick.
Wrong house, wrong time of year, my guy.
With Thanksgiving days away, this bird was playing with fate like he had nothing to lose.

“I Was Afraid He Was Going to Break the Glass”
Local hunter Rick Arsenault was inside when he heard the tapping. Not a cute little knock, either. We’re talking loud, repetitive whap-whap-whap pecks, like he was trying to break in.
“He’s taking a chance being so close to Thanksgiving,” Arsenault joked. “I had to scare him away because he was pecking the glass hard and I was afraid he was going to break it.”

Clearly, this Tom has never seen a Butterball commercial.
Westport Turkeys Are Clearly Built Different
Either he was trying to intimidate his own reflection, trying to aggressively defend turf, or looking for a safe house before the holiday. Whatever the plan was, this was a bold move from a bird whose species is literally on sale all over the SouthCoast this week.
Some turkeys run. Some turkeys fly.
Apparently, the Westport ones walk right up and knock like they’re here to talk terms. If you see this guy again, maybe let him know he should lay low until December, just in case.
