As Sail Boston 250 approaches, many folks are eager to catch an up close look at some of the estimated 60 tall ships that will visit Massachusetts from all over the globe.

At least 20 countries will be represented at the event, which runs from July 11-16, 2026.

The tall ships will enter Boston Harbor as part of the Parade of Sail on Saturday, July 11, tying up at designated locations for the duration of the event. Sail Boston offers suggestions for the best parade-viewing locations.

SCRIBD.com has compiled a list of the ships expected to participate and has posted a "ship roster" by berthing location to make the task a bit easier. The USCGC Eagle, homeported in New London, Connecticut, will dock at Charlestown Navy Yard-Pier 1.

Local Favorites Joining the International Fleet

The New Bedford-based schooner Ernestina-Morrissey will participate in the Sail Boston festivities. Boston.com reported the Ernestina will dock at a temporary "Wharf 8," accessible from the Boston Harborwalk behind the Leader Bank Pavilion.

Can't Make It to Boston? Sagres Is Coming to New Bedford

If Sail Boston 250 doesn't satisfy your appetite for tall ships, or perhaps you can't make it to Boston for the event, don't forget, the Portuguese Tall Ship Sagres arrives in New Bedford on Sunday, July 19, for a four-day visit.

Sagres will enter New Bedford Harbor under the escort of the Ernestina-Morrissey and New Bedford's Azorean Whaleboats. Sagres will dock at the Marine Commerce Terminal and will offer free tours during its visit.
