He has been a front runner all season long on Dancing With the Stars, but now Alfonso Ribeiro's time on the dance floor may be over.

Sources say the former Fresh Prince of Bel Air star suffered a new injury in practice Wednesday, while trying to favor an old injury.

Earlier this season Ribeiro pulled a groin muscle, but tried to dance through it. But this week Ribeiro was rehearsing his signature move, The Carlton, and while overcompensating for his pulled groin he injured his back and rehearsal immediately stopped.

Alfonso even skipped practice Thursday to undergo further testing and he remains under medical supervision. So far it looks like he may not be able to perform on Monday's show and could have to drop out of the rest of the competition.

I kinds can't believe it was The Carlton that brought him down!

And sadly Ribeiro has been a fan and judge favorite all season long and many predicted him to win the mirrorball trophy in the end.

No officially confirmation from the DWTS folks, but I'm sure an announcement on his health and status for the rest of the season will be revealed Monday night.
