Acushnet To Remember 9/11 With Ceremoney On Wednesday
The 9/11 Memorial at the Acushnet Fire Station was dedicated 2 years ago. It includes steel recovered from the World Trade Center, a piece of the Pentagon building that was damaged in the attack, and a rock from the field in Pennsylvania where Flight 93 went down.
On Wednesday evening, the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks, the Acushnet Fire and EMS Department will host a "time of reflection" at the memorial. It begins at 7 p.m. at the Fire Station Number 1 on Russell Street.
The Acushnet 9/11 memorial is the only one in the area, and includes relics from all three sites.
