We had an interesting question this morning on Thursday Trivia.  We learned that 71% of all millenials would be willing to take a pay cut if it meant that they'd be allowed to bring their pets to work each day.  Incredibly, 20% of them would be willing to take a 20% pay cut! Stunning numbers!

Bringing your pets to work is not as voodoo as it was in the not too distant past.  Some companies are looking at allowing pets in the workplace as companies compete for the looser, more casual atmospheres like Google and Apple.

During a recent visit to Merrow, a worldwide sewing company based in Fall River, I noticed no less than 3-4 dogs roaming the spacious, high ceiling facility which once housed one of Fall River's mills.  I'd have to say that the dogs were very calm and weren't as distracting as you might think.  One of Merrow's employees called into the show this morning. He told us that when he wanted to bring his dog into work, he had to bring her in beforehand for an informal "interview" of the dog to make sure she would be able to handle the atmosphere.

When you stop and consider the fact that nearly three out of four millennials want their pets by their sides at work...the logical conclusion is that there very well be more and more pets in the workplace in the future.  As more and more millennials are placed in positions of management, they may be inclined to make their staff happy by allowing pets at the workplace.

There would certainly have to be some consideration for people with allergies to pets.  I'm not sure how that would play into the equation.  So what do you think?  Would animals make you happier to be at work?
