Calling all witches and wizards.

After a two-year hiatus, a magical event returns to Malborough on Dec. 10 and 11 that brings the world of Harry Potter to the world of muggles.

Grab your wands and cloaks, it’s almost time for New England Wizardfest.

What is New England WizardFest?

Created in Massachusetts, Wizardfest is a magical, two-day event at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel in Marlborough that brings to life the story of Harry Potter, Hogwarts, and the entire wizarding world created by author J.K. Rowling.

“If you are a seeker of magical things, then this is the place where you belong," said Wizardfest.

It’s a mystical world of magic and mischief where your wildest dreams of being immersed in the wizarding world can finally come true.

What to Expect

“Our goal is to bring people back to the excitement they felt the first time they read the books or saw the movies,” festival organizers said.

Have you always wanted to attend Hogwarts? Sign up for student enrollment and receive an acceptance letter, wizarding classes and special keepsakes. And yes, the sorting hat will decide which “house” you will be in.

If classes aren’t your style, general admission tickets are available, giving you access to events such as Live Action Wizard Chess, Wizard Duels or the Harry Potter trivia tournament.

For the veteran wizards, the VIP package gets you special perks such as discounts on certain vendors and all-day access.

Yule Ball

Remember when Ron totally blew it by not asking Hermione to the ball? Don’t be like Ron. Invite your crush or your closest friends to the Yule Ball where witches and wizards will dress in their finest cloaks and robes to enjoy potions, dancing, and mingling.

Whether you’re a “Potterhead” or simply just a fan of all things magic, Wizardfest offers fun for the entire family.

Tasty Harry Potter Themed Treats to Try at Lost Shoe Brewery

It may not be the butterbeer Harry Potter was drinking in Hogsmeade, but there are some very delicious Potter-themed drinks being served in the Forbidden Forest at Lost Shoe Brewery in Marlborough.
