We've had a string of unseasonably warm, sunny days on the SouthCoast but the weather is taking a turn towards winter this weekend.

Will it be rain or will be snow?

A serious temperature drop has hit our area just in time for a storm front to be making it's way through. So will the SouthCoast see some snow?

ABC6 chief meteorologist Jeff Desnoyers says yes and then no.

According to Desnoyers Saturday's storm will bring us snow to start then switch over to all rain for the rest of it's run through our area.

So if you are out and about late Saturday afternoon or early evening then beware of snow on the roadways.

Temperatures will then start to warm up as the evening goes on however so by the overnight things will likely be entirely rain along the shoreline.

Accumulation away from the shore should be slightly higher however as you can see from the ABC6 snow forecast.

At least for us on the SouthCoast there should be no need to shovel after the storm comes through.

Temperatures aren't going to rise too much though. Highs on Sunday will only be in the upper 30s.

And for much of next week lows will be in the teens or even single digits overnight.

Winter has certainly crept into our area in the last few days. Personally I could use a little more snowfall, but I'm sure that will happen sooner rather than later on the SouthCoast too.
