Rhode Island Gets Love From ‘Love on the Spectrum’ Star
Netflix is well-known for binge-worthy shows, and its series Love On The Spectrum has become one of the most popular shows so far in 2024.
The docuseries follows people on the autism spectrum as they navigate the world of love, dating and relationships. The show is heartwarming, each episode guaranteed to make you smile.
Fans have been raving about the most recent season. Due to its popularity, the show inevitably began generating a lot of buzz on social media, and thanks to TikTok, it could have a small connection to New England.
Out of the several individuals the series follows, we meet Connor in season two. He's located in Georgia but seems to have an affinity for Rhode Island. His recent TikTok shows him rocking a sweatshirt with "Block Island" written across the chest.
Knowing that he's from Atlanta, it was a surprise to see him repping Rhode Island.
Not only is Rhode Island the smallest in the country, but Block Island, 13 miles off the coast, can be even more obscure to nonlocals.
The subtle New England shoutout didn't stop there. Connor's sister, Anna, also has a TikTok video dedicated to her appreciation of Rhode Island.
The caption: "Rhode Island Has my <3," followed by a montage of Anna with snapshots at different locations, including beaches, boat docks and ferry rides.
The family seems to have a special connection with the state beyond a simple one-time visit.
Seeing others acknowledge their appreciation for Rhode Island is a reminder of all the great things the tiny state has to offer. As locals, it's easy to take what we have for granted. From the best beaches to great food and rich history, New England is a nice place to visit.
Whether you're living in Rhode Island or Massachusetts (like Love on the Spectrum star James), let this be your reminder to get out and explore where you live.
