Westport’s ‘Lady J Smile’ Off-Ramp Sign Mysteriously Goes Missing
It's been a while since I've visited my parents in Westport, so today I decided to take a little ride over to their house to catch up.
As I was heading westbound on Interstate 195, getting ready to take the Westport Route 88 exit, I said to myself, "I wonder if that red sign is still hanging up?" It's been a while now since the mysterious sign that I failed at figuring out was posted up on the tree and it seems that something or someone has removed it permanently.
It made me wonder if I was the only person fully invested in this.
"You've got to be kidding me," I said out loud, "To think that I'll never know the back story to this mysterious sign- that's a swift kick to the shins."
I'll be honest with you- not being able to solve this case was a bummer for me. I was confident that I could figure out who nailed it to the tree and for what reasons did they do so. Unfortunately, I had to take the "L" and walk away. Perhaps that's why I felt a bit salty as I passed by a signless tree.
Back in September of 2020, I was investigating this as is I were a detective on a case.
Sadly, every clue that I had lead me to a dead end and now, the world may never know when the sign was for or most importantly-what it even meant. Let's just hope that somewhere out there, Lady J is smiling.
