Unleash Your Inner Bookworm at Westport’s Annual Book Sale
WESTPORT (WBSM) — It's every book lover's dream to be surrounded by an endless selection of stories to escape into, and with Westport's annual book fair, that dream can become a reality.
On Saturday, July 13, the town of Westport will open the doors to this year's Westport Friends Book Fair, which will take place at 939 Main Road.
What started as a seven-table book fair in 1961 has become a local event attracting book lovers from all over.
On Saturday, the doors will open at 10 a.m., along with the paperback selections. Here, you can select six books for $1.
Children's books will be available in the Meetinghouse at 10:45 a.m. At 11 a.m., all sales are open until the grounds close at 7 p.m.
Throughout the day, visitors will come face to face with 30,000 high-quality used books for sale.
No matter what stories you love to read or genres you lean more into, you can be sure to find the right ones for you.
Books include art, literature, cooking, gardening, local features, poetry, non-fiction, children's books and more.
For a more effortless browsing experience, books are categorized by subject and clearly labeled above each table. Cash, checks and credit cards are acceptable when ready to purchase.
Any bookworm can agree that books can become a pricey investment over time. However, Westport's Friends Book Sale is the perfect event to snag a new beach read or stock up your collection at home with deals you can't find at a traditional bookstore.
The Westport Friends Book Sale doesn't end this weekend, either. It will continue daily from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. through July 22.
