It's been just about two and a half years since we lost the beloved Benny's on Route 6 in Fairhaven. It's been an eyesore ever since. Recently, I have noticed some construction vehicles on the premises.

Which got me curious as to what might be going on there. We all want to know, right?

I was hoping it was going to be something Fairhaven doesn't already have. If you were like me and hoping it was going to be something cool and exciting, hold on to your hats.

I first got the heads up from the folks over at the Delken laundromat and then called to confirm the rumor with the Town of Fairhaven.

According to Fairhaven Building Commissioner Chris White, it looks like right now the building will be renovated to house three stores, two of which White could confirm with me.

Are you ready for this? It looks like we will be getting another dollar store, along with an O'Reilly Auto Parts.

It does seem a little anti-climatic, with two store categories that we already have here in Fairhaven. I wish I could have had a say in what went in there. There are so many other things that Fairhaven would totally love.

Who thought it would be a good idea to have another dollar store? Is the one we already have now not filling the void?

What are your thoughts on these two new additions to our lovely town? What would you have rather seen go there?

Am I disappointed? Yes, and I have a feeling I'm not the only one.
