Fairhaven to Welcome Harbor Freight Tools This Summer

FAIRHAVEN (WBSM) — Just in time for all the work around the house this summer, Fairhaven is getting a new hardware store.

Harbor Freight Tools is coming to 13 Berdon Way, in the former Regal House Furniture location next to Ocean State Job Lot.

According to the store locator on the Harbor Freight website, the Fairhaven store is estimated to open in July.

Harbor Freight Tools advertises itself as “Quality Tools, Lowest Prices.” The California-based company operates over 1,500 locations in 48 states.

The company began as Harbor Freight and Salvage in North Hollywood, California in 1977 and opened its first retail store in 1980 in Lexington, Kentucky.

Other nearby Harbor Freight locations include East Wareham, Fall River, Raynham and Plymouth.

As of April 25, there was no activity happening at the site.

Regal House Furniture moved into the former Shaw’s site in January 2019, relocating its furniture and mattress outlet that was formerly housed on Belleville Avenue in New Bedford.

It occupied the other half of what was Shaw’s after Ocean State Job Lot opened on the other side in 2017.

Regal House permanently closed late last year.

Fairhaven has other construction taking place in the immediate area, as Starbucks is currently being built at the former Dunkin' site on Alden Road and Mirasol's Cafe is under construction on the site of a former car wash on Huttleston Avenue.
