Do You Wish Other People a Happy Valentine’s Day?
February 14th has become synonymous with love.
While some people claim to pay Valentine’s Day no mind, others can’t wait to break out the red and pink and shower their loved ones with meaningful gestures.
Valentine’s Day is unique in that it is a very personal holiday. Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year's are all best celebrated with large gatherings, whereas Valentine’s Day is a little more intimate.
But a surprising twist has surfaced this Valentine’s Day. It appears more people in my life are treating Valentine’s Day as a communal celebration.
I have received several texts this year from friends wishing me a Happy Valentine’s Day.
Is this new? Or am I just noticing it this year?
Friends have reached out, saying how much our friendship means to them. Even family members have sent me love in the form of a sweet phone call.
February 14th seems to be evolving into a day of love and appreciation that is no longer just reserved for couples.
It’s a day for everyone to take a minute and reflect on the people in their lives that bring them joy.
Receiving texts from my friends and family today made me feel warm and fuzzy.
Whether it’s fair or not, I expect gestures of love from my husband today.
It was the unexpected texts and calls that left me smiling.
Whether or not you have your own Valentine this year, consider reaching out to the people in your life who fill your cup and bring you joy.
There’s enough love to go around for everyone on Valentine’s Day.
