The Famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Will Host UMass Amherst’s Marching Band Once Again
Exciting news is on the horizon for a local marching band out of Massachusetts.
On Saturday, October 7th, UMass Amherst was proud to announce that their Minuteman Marching Band will be performing in the Macy's Day Parade next year. This isn't the first invite the band has received, as they also performed during the 87th annual Macy's Day Parade back in 2013.
Persistence and hard work paid off and the Minutemen are preparing for next Thanksgiving.

The Minuteman Marching Band is well known for its outstanding directors, instructors, and students. They have a modernized color guard and a powerful horn section that's ready to bring the energy to New York City.
Each year at UMass Amherst, the Department of Music and Dance accepts over 200 students who explore the vast degrees UMass offers. They also have an opportunity to be a part of 17 different festivals--or ensembles--throughout the year. UMass Amherst has a Concert Band, Hoop and Ice Band, and Color in the Cage.
