Tiverton’s Bajah’s Cat Café Triumphantly Reopens After Licensing Hurdles
Tiverton's beloved Bajah’s Cat Café is back in action, delighting cat lovers once again after a brief closure.
On Monday, January 6, the café shared the exciting news via Facebook:
“We’re Back with Kitties! We’re so excited to share that we’re getting back to normal at Bajah’s Cat Cafe! Reservations can now be made on BajahsCatCafe.com. Individual Reservations: Available 7 days a week. Private Room Reservations: Monday through Friday only.
We will resume normal business hours starting Wednesday, January 8th, and we’re thrilled to invite you to our Grand Reopening this Saturday, January 11th during our regular hours.
Join us for some fun with raffles and surprises as we celebrate this exciting milestone together!”
The café’s grand reopening event is set for Saturday, January 11, starting at 9 a.m. at 137 Main Road in Tiverton.
The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA) will also be in attendance, offering information and support, while attendees can enjoy raffles and other surprises.
Owner Amanda Souza expressed her joy and relief at the reopening, noting that while she had to pay a $2,000 fine, her shelter license remained intact and was never revoked to begin with. She remains optimistic, focusing on obtaining a rescue license and ensuring smooth operations moving forward.
“Honestly, it’s fine, I would rather keep doing what we’re doing and making a difference and continue forward,” Souza said. “It’s a new fresh start and I’m happy all around.”
In a heartwarming turn of events, every cat originally removed from the café has been adopted by the supportive local community.
With its doors open once more, Bajah’s Cat Café invites everyone to join in the celebration and support its mission of providing a cozy haven for both cats and cat lovers.
