One of the Smallest Homes on the SouthCoast Just Sold for $170,000
Over the weekend, Fun 107’s own Phil Devitt was driving through Seekonk, and he may have stumbled upon the smallest house in town.
If he blinked, he would have missed it, but it turns out he wasn’t the only one who spotted it.
This single-family home on Arcade Avenue just sold for $170,000.
Surrounded by other homes modest in size, this charming little spot at 598 Arcade Ave. sits on .68 acres of land and occupies 576 square feet of living space.
“Build your dream home, use ‘as is’ or add on for more living space,” boasts the seller, Abbott Properties LLC.
With loads of potential, this new homeowner will have to decide if they will keep it residential or transform it for commercial use, as the listing suggests.
Upon entering the home, a bright purple door swings open to the kitchen. I wonder if the home comes with that Coca-Cola fridge.
Equipped with a bedroom and bathroom, the space is tight but shows room for improvement with its comfortably sized backyard and pleasant neighborhood.
The housing market hasn’t been easy, and while this home is smaller than your average home, it comes with an attractive price tag and room to grow. Where this home sold for under $200,000, its neighbors are listed between $320,000 and $456,000.
Back when this home was built in 1950, it may have been the perfect size, but I’m eager to see what the new homeowners do to bring the tiniest home in Swansea up a notch.
