The Kid Laroi is going to college.

The Australian singer recently announced his “Bleed for You” tour would kick off this spring, with the second stop of the tour landing him in Kingston at the University of Rhode Island.

“We leveled up this time and I can’t wait for you to see what we’ve been working on,” he said on Instagram. He’s been fairly quiet since the release of his EP back in 2021, but the up-and-coming artist is excited to get back on the road and promote his forthcoming album, The First Time.

In 2020, I got a chance to ask The Kid Laroi a few questions, most importantly, “Where did the nickname ‘Kid Laroi’ come from?"

“I’d rather not say,” he said. “I like to keep it a secret."

We may never know the true story behind Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard’s stage name, but one fact is clear: this 19-year-old loves New England.

Last year, Fun 107’s Sierra Fiore sat down with the star backstage before his performance at The House of Blues, and he sang his praises for Boston and the surrounding area.

“I love Boston. I have a lot of friends from Boston, but this place is really beautiful and I love the architecture,” he said.

Unfortunately, The Kid Laroi is not taking the trip to Boston, but he’s coming close.

It’s a quick drive to The Ryan Center at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, where the Kid Laroi will take the stage on Friday, March 24.

Tickets are on sale now.

20 Stars Who Hail From Rhode Island

Rhode Island may be the smallest state in the nation, but it has been home to many celebrities. Though some have moved here, filmed here or attended school here, only a handful were actually born here. These are those celebrities.
