Taylor Swift is using her social media presence for change once again.

Swift wrote a tumblr post eloquently stating why she would be withholding her album, 1989, from Apple's new streaming service.

The tumblr post addressed the fact that Apple was not planning on paying royalties to artists during the 3 month free trial period of the new streaming service. Swift politely pointed out that this means hard working musicians would be going a full 3 months without getting paid for their hard work.

She ended the post with this point "But I say to Apple with all due respect, it’s not too late to change this policy and change the minds of those in the music industry who will be deeply and gravely affected by this. We don’t ask you for free iPhones. Please don’t ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation."

Swift responded on Twitter about the news, saying "I am elated and relieved. Thank you for your words of support today. They listened to us."
