Restore ORR

It's been a long time coming, but Old Rochester Regional High School is finally getting a new track.

A three-year odyssey came to a fruitless end Wednesday night in the effort to improve Old Rochester Regional High School.

Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today in Rochester. Voters have the final say about whether or not ORR should get new track/field/auditorium upgrades.

Mattapoisett town elections take place today. Polls are open until 8 p.m. The town is voting on a new fire station and whether or not to Restore ORR.

Mattapoisett held it's annual Town Meeting last night inside Old Rochester Regional High School's auditorium. Attendance was so robust that dozens of residents watched and voted for much of the night in the overflow room in the gymnasium.

A big night tonight in Mattapoisett and Marion as the Restore ORR project goes to Town Meeting vote tonight.

Why do I support Restore ORR? The reason is simple: sports teams and drama clubs are the types of things that turn schools into communities. They are where relationships are formed beyond math class. They are where students learn to be coached, where captains learn to lead...

ORR is one step closer to breaking ground on new turf for the high school field, a new track and new sound and lighting for the auditorium.

ORR's School Committee will decide tonight whether or not the effort to Restore ORR will proceed to Town Meeting and a town ballot.
