Some important information to share with any veterans that you might know that have not yet been vaccinated.

A COVID-19 vaccine clinic for veterans has been announced for Saturday, March 27 in Swansea.

The vaccine clinic will be held at the New Hope Church at 1436 Grand Army of the Republic Highway.

The clinic is scheduled to open its doors at 9 a.m. and will run until roughly 2 p.m., depending upon demand. It is being organized and conducted by the VA Providence Healthcare System.

All veterans regardless of age or where they live are welcome to take advantage of the free COVID vaccines that are being offered.

If a veteran is not enrolled in the VA Healthcare System, they are asked to bring a copy of their DD214 and a picture ID. For the sake of convenience, veterans are also asked to print and fill out a 1010EZ enrollment form at https://www.va.gov/vaforms/medical/pdf/10-10EZ-fillable.pdf. If they are unable to bring their own, one will be provided to them at the clinic.

Any veterans who are unable to attend this clinic in Swansea are invited to obtain their shots at the VA Providence Healthcare System at their main campus on Chalkstone Ave in Providence. The vaccine will be supplied there to veterans Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Massachusetts veterans are welcome.

The VA Providence Healthcare System is also planning more mobile vaccine events for veterans on the SouthCoast that are unable to attend on Saturday.

The Medical Center Director, Larry Connell's goal is to continue to bring clinics to wear veterans live.

"In speaking to the Veterans Service Officers of the Southeastern Massachusetts region, they were very excited to work with us in making the clinic a reality," he said.
