Sometimes a school is more than just classrooms and lockers. For generations of students across Fall River and the SouthCoast, Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School was where lifelong careers began, friendships were formed, and skills were built one shop at a time.

Now, before the school officially moves into its brand-new campus this fall, Diman is giving alumni, former staff, families and current students one final chance to walk the halls of the building that’s stood since 1968.

“One. Final. Time.”

That’s the message Diman shared on Facebook while announcing a special public walkthrough of the old school building on Sunday, July 12. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the doors to the longtime Stonehaven Road campus will reopen for what could be an emotional trip down memory lane for thousands of former Bengals.

Visitors will be able to revisit the shops and classrooms that helped shape generations of tradesmen and tradeswomen before the school transitions into its new state-of-the-art facility for the 2026-27 school year.

One Last Walk Through Diman History

The event will also feature a “Fill a Bag” fundraiser benefiting the Diman Alumni Scholarship Fund. According to the school, attendees will have the opportunity to take home pieces of Diman history while helping support future students at the same time.

From welding sparks flying in the shops to culinary students learning the ropes in the kitchen, Diman has spent nearly six decades preparing students for real-world careers. The current campus first opened in 1968 and has served thousands of students from Fall River, Somerset, Swansea and Westport over the years.

Parking Will Be Limited

With construction still active around the new building, Diman said parking for the walkthrough event will only be available on nearby streets. Guests are encouraged to follow posted signs upon arrival. Once the new building officially opens, the current structure is expected to eventually be demolished as part of the school’s long-term campus plans.
