SWANSEA (WBSM) — A man was arrested on charges of operating under the influence after he allegedly drove his truck into a home on Route 6 in Swansea Saturday afternoon.

Emergency Crews Respond to Route 6 Crash in Swansea

Swansea Police, the Swansea Fire Department, and the Swansea Ambulance Corps responded at about 4:29 p.m. on October 24 to 1228 Grand Army of the Republic Highway (Route 6) following a 911 call reporting a truck had crashed into a house.

Officers determined a gray 2022 Toyota Tacoma had been traveling down Route 6 when it left the road and struck the home’s porch and foundation. The truck’s airbags deployed and there was concern about a possible gas leak. The driver, identified as Douglas McLane, 45, of Swansea, was taken to Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River for evaluation.
