Swansea’s Silver Stone Castle Nears Completion After Five Years
Hear ye, hear ye, good people of Swansea.
It has come to the public's attention that Silver Stone Castle & Family Entertainment in Swansea is finally nearing completion after five years of construction.
In a recent statement, the team behind the highly anticipated 87,000-square-foot medieval-themed attraction shared a long-awaited update:
“We would like to first and foremost thank each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts for the continued support and patience you have shown throughout this massive undertaking.
Over the course of the past several months, we have continued to make tremendous progress. That being said, we understand that it may seem like things have stalled, but we are still marching forward! There are a multitude of custom aspects and pieces that are included not only in the Silver Stone decor, but also as a part of its essential functionality.
Additionally, ensuring the structure and operations meet all state and local regulations has required extra time and effort. We will continue to update as best we can, including all those to whom we’ve interviewed and everyone who has reached out in planning their special celebrations.
'It always seems impossible until it’s done.'”
What’s the bottom line?
They’re not done yet, but they’re getting close.
Owner Joe Estrela, a Swansea native, began the project in 2019 with an anticipated opening in July 2020. However, the opening was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other challenges.
When it finally opens, visitors can expect custom pieces and other medieval-themed builds, including:
- A two-story indoor go-kart track
- A massive arcade and game center
- An indoor luxury pool with cabanas
- Rock climbing walls
- A full-service tavern featuring Portuguese cuisine
- A grand ballroom for events (up to 250 guests)
- A giant dragon suspended from the rafters
While they haven’t announced a grand opening date just yet, it’s clear as day that the Silver Stone team is in the final chapters.
