Swansea Mall to Close on March 31

The Swansea Mall is shutting down at the end of March.

Swansea Selectman Chris Carreiro made the announcement Thursday on his Facebook page after receiving a phone call from Carlyle Partners, the owners of the mall, saying the Swansea Mall will close on March 31.

Carreiro says he's confident the property will be redeveloped, and the town of Swansea will play a significant role in that project.

He says he's looking forward to working with several partners, including WalMart, to bring the Swansea Mall property back to life.
