Swansea Family Entertainment Destination Is Coming and It Will Be Epic
Hear ye, hear ye, lords and ladies: the development of a grand castle is underway in Swansea, and it will be the newest attraction to the SouthCoast for family entertainment. It will be sure to excite any person with a thrill for adventure and a love for medieval times.
Owner and Swansea native Joe Estrela is ecstatic that the permitting process is complete, and the excavating process has begun for the foundation of Silver Stone Castle and Family Entertainment.
“I can’t explain how excited I am,” Estrela said. “I am so full of emotion to start this project, it’s huge.”
Estrella loves games, arcades, entertainment, and medieval times. His wedding was even medieval-themed, so when he began brainstorming his project four years ago, he knew he wanted to stick with that theme and bring his vision to his hometown. He learned everything he knows about running a business from his parents, who owned a manufacturing facility in Fall River, and now he’s ready to start a business of his own.
“It’s my way of giving back to the community,” Estrela said.
Silver Stone Castle will be 87,000 square feet of non-stop fun. Because of his love of medieval times, Estrela decided to model the center after a grand castle, equipped with medieval décor, old-timey nuances, and a giant dragon statue that will hang from the rafters.
His version of medieval times will have a more refined appeal, with an elegant atmosphere, and Estrella is very passionate about offering an immersive and awe-inspiring experience.
“I am very picky about my business. Every aspect is going to be beautiful, and the cleanliness will be on point," he said.
So will the adventure. Silver Stone will be home to a two-story indoor go-kart track, an indoor luxury pool with cabanas, a giant arcade, rock-climbing wall, and he hopes to incorporate virtual reality games. The large ballroom can host events of up to 250 people, while smaller party rooms are perfect for birthdays or other special events, and a full restaurant and bar will complete the space.
“I love this type of stuff,” gushed Estrela.
Now that Estrela’s team has finally broke ground, his giant castle will start to take shape in the next four weeks, and he hopes to open the gates by the Summer of 2022.
Let’s take a look inside the massive castle that will sit along G.A.R. Highway and beckon families to enter.
