Swansea Library Transforms Into Haunted Circus for Two Nights of Fright
Something scary is coming to Swansea and it won’t be for the faint of heart.
On Saturday, Oct. 22, and Sunday, Oct. 23, the Swansea Public Library will no longer be innocent aisles of books shelves. It will be transformed into the “Spooktacular Haunted Library” where clowns and chaos roam freely.
Kaija Gallucci, the library assistant, is excited to bring back the beloved tradition to the library.
“We’ve been doing it for a few years now and each year it’s a slightly different theme,” she said. “We are bringing back a circus theme for this year.”
Can a Library Actually Be Scary?
“Definitely,” said Gallucci, who promises blood, body parts and all things gruesome at this year’s event.
It’s open to all ages but enter at your own discretion.
“There have been a few tears before,” Gallucci warned.
How Much Is It?
The Spooktacular Haunted Library is free and open to the public. Gallucci and her fellow staff members are big fans of the Halloween season and enjoy bringing free friendly fright to the library each year.
“A lot of haunted events can get pretty pricey,” Gallucci said, so the library aims to offer an affordable experience.
For those looking to give back to the library, guests can make donations to the Friends of Swansea Public Library and the Ryan Kelly Memorial Fund.
What to Expect
The library will close early that weekend as the staff prepares for the terrifying transformation, creating a maze for brave souls to walk through. Volunteers are currently in the process of making the costumes and props and look forward to sending chills down the spines of those who dare to enter.
Happy Halloween!
