Bicycle Shops Around the SouthCoast Are Once Again Fully Stocked After Pandemic Shortage
At the age of 35, I finally purchased a bicycle on my own.
Today, was quite an accomplishment, as I purchased not one, but two bicycles. One for myself and one for my fiancée. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but we've been itching for our own bikes since we moved to New Bedford three years ago.
I've never felt so free and alive.
You see, once the pandemic shut down the world, everybody and their mother went out and bought bicycles to add to their list of hobbies. Unfortunately, that led to a shortage of bikes just about everywhere as well as a hefty price hike. Since then, bicycle companies have been pumping out its product left and right, and local bike shops have been overstocked.
Whether you're looking for recreation mountain bikes, road bikes, touring bikes, racing bikes, BMX bikes, or even electric bikes, there's something for everyone.
Most importantly, take my advice. Make sure you purchase the "right" bike for whatever you're looking to do with it. For example, if you're just looking for a bicycle to ride to work or leisurely around town to the city, then I'd go with a recreation mountain bike or one of those fancy eBikes.
As we took our bikes for a pleasant stroll throughout New Bedford, I was instantly hooked. The wind in your face, the thrill of the ride, and the best company I could ask for were more than enough to make the purchase worth every last penny,
