Somerset Comedy Show at Society Coffee Bar Stunned by Surprise Matt Rife Appearance
You just never know when a celebrity is going to shock and awe. Especially when it comes to local events.
Whale City Comedy and its founder, Ashlie Thatcher, have pulled off yet another unforgettable night for SouthCoast comedy fans.
On Tuesday night around 9:00 PM, Society Coffee Bar in Somerset became the latest unexpected stage for comedian Matt Rife. The crowd, already enjoying a sold-out show that kicked off at 7:00 PM, erupted in excitement when the comedy star made his surprise entrance.
The night featured a stellar lineup of comedians, including Lad Dennis-Lopes, Kristy Kielbasinski, Jimmy Cash, and Doug Key. Each brought their own brand of humor to the stage, keeping the audience entertained.
But it was Rife’s unannounced performance that took the night to another level, making an already special event even more memorable.
This marks Rife’s second surprise visit to the SouthCoast in just two weeks.
Back on January 19th, he stunned comedy fans at the Belmont Club in Fall River during another Whale City Comedy event. His unexpected drop-ins are creating quite the buzz, leaving the SouthCoast wondering where he might show up next.
Rife, who skyrocketed to fame through TikTok and stand-up, moved to North Smithfield, Rhode Island, in 2024, making these impromptu appearances a thrilling possibility for New England comedy fans. With his growing connection to the area, it’s clear that SouthCoast audiences might not have seen the last of him just yet.
