Sam Adams is getting a head start when it comes to the 2024 Olympics.

The Boston Beer Company has filed two trademark applications to use the term “Boston 2024” in connection with their Sam Adams beer.

The Boston Business Journal, which first revealed the story about the trademark filing, reported that the Boston Beer Co. may have to contend with other beer companies opposing the application. If their competitors fail to oppose the application, Boston Beer will own the trademark.

The host city for the 2024 Olympics won’t be selected until September 2017 so we will have to wait and see if the Boston Beer Co. jumped the gun or won a gold medal in the beer industry.

If you are a beer lover...you don't want to miss tomorrow's legendary beer festival America On Tap. We are bringing it to Roger Williams Park in Providence tomorrow (June 13th) starting at 2:30pm.  Grab your friends and sample over 100 craft beers from around the country, while enjoying some music, food and great vendors.
