Move over mustard, relish and sour cream. There's a new sheriff in condiment town, and it is #1. It was bound to happen sooner or later as American food tastes and demographics are shifting. Ketchup in all it's glory has been dethroned by none other than salsa! It doesn't stop there either!

According to Fox News, tortillas outsell burger and hot dog buns; sales of tortilla chips trump potato chips; and tacos and burritos have become so ubiquitously "American," most people don't even consider them ethnic.

With Hispanics making up more than a quarter of the U.S. population today, experts say this change is dramatically flavoring the American culinary experience. The influence is deeper than you would think, like Italian food before it, Hispanic food is easy for Americans to cook at home. Few Americans will roll their own sushi, but plenty are happy with a quick quesadilla. When was the last time you ate some chips? All-American potato chips are also being flavored with traditionally Hispanic ingredients. Lay's "Chile Limon" chips? Maybe some Pringles Jalapeno? And of course there's the classic, Nacho Cheese Doritos.
