Rhode Island City Says Daddy Daughter Dances Are Illegal?

According to the Providence Journal, in a move that has taken some parents by surprise, the school department in Cranston, Rhode Island has announced that it is banning traditional "father-daughter" and "mother-son" activities, saying they violate state law.  Which is by far the most ridiculus thing I have ever heard, what is happening to America?  My daughter and I went to something like this in our home town earlier this year. It was very bonding for the both of us..she rode on my feet and we danced together.

Yep, now that is completely illegal in Cranston RI USA..Did the City of Cranston do the right thing in banning these kind of events?
