If you bought a Red Bull energy drink within the past 12 years, it looks like they owe you some money.

Remember when Red Bull's slogan was that it "gives you wings"...well, turns out some people took that literally, and when they drank the energy drink and did not in fact get "wings", they filed a false advertisement lawsuit. Buzzfeed.com has some details on the lawsuit:

According to the lawsuit:
"Such deceptive conduct and practices mean that [Red Bull’s] advertising and marketing is not just ‘puffery,’ but is instead deceptive and fraudulent and is therefore actionable."

Despite settling, Red Bull denied any wrongdoing in a statement:
"Red Bull settled the lawsuit to avoid the cost and distraction of litigation. However, Red Bull maintains that its marketing and labeling have always been truthful and accurate, and denies any and all wrongdoing or liability."

So the good news for you, is that Red Bull has agreed to pay 13 million dollars to consumers in the lawsuit, and you can get in on some of that cash. They are offering a $10 cash refund or $15 in Red Bull products, to anyone who bought Red Bull between January 1, 2002 and October 3, 2014. No proof of purchase is necessary, (so I guess anyone is eligible for a refund, which explains why the site is down!) Here is it anyway if you want to cash in on your piece of the pie: https://secure.gcginc.com/rdb/Default.aspx.  Like I said, it's been down for a while, so just keep clicking refresh!
