It looks like another major production is coming to Massachusetts.

Ryan Murphy, the creator behind shows like Pose, Hollywood, and Glee hopes to film some of the 10th season of his FX series American Horror Story in Provincetown. According to the Instagram account @ahsfxnews, production in Provincetown will take place from February 1 to March 6.

The Cape Cod Times reports that the application to film is being reviewed today by the town, but little is known about the actual events of the show.

There are 19 filming locations around Provincetown that have been listed, like the Pilgrim Monument, Commercial Street, Race Point Beach, Winthrop Street Cemetery, Old Colony Nature Path, Route 6, and Bradford Street.

American Horror Story is an anthology series where each season is a self-contained mini-series, with its own plotlines and unique characters. Each season has a different horror theme. So far, fans have enjoyed Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke, Cult, Apocalypse, and 1984. The most recent season, 1984, took inspiration from classic 1980s horror films, even playing off the “final girl” motif.

The new season is being filmed under the codename “Pilgrim,” which has some fans hypothesizing the possible theme centering around the pilgrim’s arrival to Massachusetts. Ryan Murphy, the AHS co-creator, has teased the theme for a while now. On November 10, Murphy posted an image on Instagram of a mouth with sharpened teeth, red lips, and “AHS 10” tattooed on the tongue. The location of the post was tagged as “Provincetown, Massachusetts.” There was no caption on the post.

The American Horror Story Instagram account released the main cast on February 26, 2020. The main cast consists of AHS veterans such as Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Evan Peters, Adina Porter, Lily Rabe, Angelica Ross, and Finn Wittrock. Macaulay Culkin will be a new face amongst the veterans.

The new season is expected to premiere on FX in the later months of 2021.
