Provincetown Shop Wins Las Culturistas Culture Award
Famous guests, hilarious hosts and memorable moments can all be found when listening to the Las Culturistas podcast.
Hosted by Matt Rogers and Saturday Night Live star Bowen Yang, the podcast has grown tremendously since it first launched in 2016.
So much so that Bravo and Peacock awarded them with a special Las Culturistas Culture Awards on August 5.

P-Town Gets a Shoutout
Celebrities, moments and more were awarded in quirky categories like Best Vibes, Worst Sticky Feeling, Sport We Would Love to Know More About and the Jamie Lee Curtis Award for gusto, enthusiasm and individuality.
Jamie Lee Curtis was there to present her award which included a local business as a nominee.
"It's just been nothing but kindness," said Michelle Axelson, owner of Womencrafts Provincetown.
Her business was thrust into the spotlight when Curtis announced them as a nominee and then as the winner.

Axelson was familiar with the hosting duo prior to the show.
"I had met them last summer. They came to Provincetown like they do, I think every summer for a vacation," she said.
"They came into the shop, I immediately recognized them and I also knew that of the duo," she said. "Bowen is more recognizable from SNL, but I listened to the podcast and know about Matt, so I kind of made a bigger deal about Matt."
"I do this thing every day at 12:34 p.m. called a 'moment of queer joy' with a bullhorn on Commercial Street without fanfare, just announcing something positive every day," she said.
Yang and Rogers shared their appreciation of these efforts with Axelson.

Too Good to Be True?
Axelson was unsure if the nomination was meant as a joke, but after private messages from Yang and Rogers who expressed their admiration for the P-town shop owner, she was honored.
The messages continued on premiere night when the Las Culturistas hosts told Axelson "we want to be really clear that you receive it as the love letter it's intended to be and that you're in on the joke."
The Winning Moment
Not only was the nomination a way for the business to be put in the spotlight, it actually won!
The icing on the cake? SNL alumna Ana Gasteyer accepted the award on the shop's behalf.

A hilarious and heartfelt speech highlighting the store gave the small business its moment to shine.
The Aftermath
Since then, Axelson has seen and heard lots of positive feedback. The store remains busy with customers frequently mentioning the Culture Awards and the national shoutout.
Womencrafts' social media has garnered more attention as well. Her Instagram has received thousands of new followers and the store's presence on TikTok has increased.
A proud winner, it even has a sign hanging outside the door.
