Water Lantern Festival to Illuminate Rhode Island This Summer
On Saturday, June 15, a dazzling spectacle will take place at Slater Memorial Park in Pawtucket.
The Water Lantern Festival brings friends and families together for an evening of fun, happiness, and hope.
What Is the Water Lantern Festival?
Presented by One World Lantern Festival LLC, the Water Lantern Festival in Pawtucket will bring people together to light the water with their own handmade lanterns for a magical night accompanied by food and music.
The Lantern Festival is a night of healing, reflection, connection, spreading joy and so much more.
“Experience the therapeutic power of our festival, where the serene setting and the act of releasing lanterns provide a unique space for emotional healing and rejuvenation,” the festival said online.

Guests get to decorate lanterns and release them into the water at Slater Memorial Park in Pawtucket. As the lanterns gather in the water, a dazzling display of illumination forms.
What’s Included in Rhode Island's Water Lantern Festival
Each adult ticket comes with:
- Wristband for entry into the festival area with access to food trucks
- Floating lantern kit
- LED candle
- Commemorative drawstring bag
- Conversation cards
- Playing cards
- Marker
- Lantern retrieval and water clean-up
The price covers the cost of collecting and removing the lanterns from the water following the event as well as cleaning up any trash that may have been previously in or around the water.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Design your lantern at 8, experience the lantern launch from 8:30 to 9:30, and enjoy food trucks, music and fun until 9:30.
