New Marvel Movie Seeking Extras for Filming in Boston
Live your Marvel superhero dreams by scoring a spot as an extra in the latest big-budget movie making its way through Massachusetts.
A "Spider-Man" spinoff will film around Boston from July through September and extras of all ethnicities, ages, genders and sizes are needed.
"Madame Web" is a female-driven spinoff of the Spidey movies and already has an all-star cast. The title character, a blind, spider-themed clairvoyant with the powers of astral projection and telepathy, is reportedly being played by Dakota Johnson. Emma Roberts, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O'Connor, Isabela Merced and Tahar Rahim are also signed on for undisclosed roles.
And you can be a part of the film, too.
According to a Kendall Cooper Casting listing under the code name "Claire," extras of all types are being sought for this film. They want locals to the Boston area who can work one to two days as well as attend fittings prior to filming and be COVID-tested ahead of any in-person work. Typical work days are a 12-plus-hour commitment, so be prepared to stay on set all day.
The casting company also mentions that all extra work, testing and fittings are paid and both Screen Actors Guild and non-union members are welcome to apply.
Even if you don't make it into the film, your vehicle might. Oddly enough, the casting call also seeks cars from the year 2003 or earlier to be used in the film, so if you drive an older model you and your car could be Marvel movie stars.
Additional casting for trained EMTs, law enforcement officers, firefighters and precision drivers is mentioned in the Kendall Cooper Casting listing, too.
Filming is expected to start in Boston Monday, July 11, and last through the entire summer.
So, be prepared for more celebrity sightings around the Bay State.
